Ministry of Tourism launches Audio Guide facility App “Audio Odigos” for 12 sites of India

On the second day of nationwide “Paryatan Parv 2019” Shri Yogendra Tripathi , Secretary, Ministry of Tourism launched the Audio Guide facility Audio Odigos for 12 sites of India. An MoU for Gol Gumbad, Delhi with Government of Delhi and Resbird Technologies was also exchanged for the development of Tourism Amenities.
Audio guide odigo offers Government of India verified content, with visuals & voice over support. With Audio Odigos, tourists will now enjoy a more enriching experience and take back historical insights into the Indian culture and heritage.


Uttarakhand CM launches awareness campaign Urjagiri, to stop power theft

RBI cuts repo rate by 25 bps to 5.15%

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Reserve Bank of India at its meeting on 04 October 2019 has decided to reduce the policy repo rate under the liquidity adjustment facility (LAF) by 25 basis points to 5.15% from 5.40% with immediate effect. Consequently, the reverse repo rate under the LAF stands reduced to 4.90%, and the marginal standing facility (MSF) rate and the Bank Rate to 5.40%. The current CRR is 4% and SLR is 18.75%
Real GDP growth forecast for 2019-20 is revised downwards from 6.9% in the August policy to 6.1% – 5.3% in Q2 of 2019-20 and in the range of 6.6-7.2% for H2 of 2019-20 – with risks evenly balanced; GDP growth for Q1 of 2020-21 is also revised downwards to 7.2%.


UCO Bank launches UCash, Digilocker and an App

UCO Bank has launched three new digital products called, UCash, Digilocker and an app in Kolkata, West Bengal by the bank’s managing director and CEO, A K Goel. UCash enables customers to withdraw money from ATMs through mobile banking without using a debit card. Digilocker aims to eliminate the use of physical documents and enables the sharing of verified electronic documents. The third product, the new mobile app, integrates four existing apps of the bank – UCO Mbanking, UCO UPI, UCO Mpassbook and UCO Secure- in a single interface.

Sushil Chandra Mishra takes over as CMD of Oil India

Sushil Chandra Mishra has taken over the charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) at Oil India Limited (OIL), India’s second government-owned oil exploration company. Mishra has taken over the charge of CMD from Utpal Bora.
Mishra, prior to his ascension was an Executive Director heading Oil India’s Rajasthan project. Mishra during his stint as ED at Rajasthan oversaw the country’s first and deepest Cyclic Steam Stimulation (CSS) process – a technology to produce heavy crude oil.

Maj Abdul Quadir Khan of the Corps of Signals brought laurels to India by winning a Silver Medal at the prestigious 53rd Asian Body Building and Physique Sports Championship held at Batam, Indonesia on 02 Oct 19. Commissioned in Jun 2014, he took to Body Building with fervour in spite of an extremely busy regimental schedule.

President Kovind presents Vayoshreshtha Samman-2019

President Ram Nath Kovind conferred the Vayoshreshtha Samman-2019 on the eminent senior citizens and institutions in New Delhi in recognition of their services towards the cause of the elderly persons. The Government has taken several steps for the welfare of the elderly and the Ayushmaan Bharat scheme has benefited them. Vayoshreshtha awards are instituted by the Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry and are presented as part of the celebration of the International Day of Older Persons on 1st October.

Shanti Raghavan, Dipesh Sutariya win Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Shanti Raghavan and Dipesh Sutariya of EnAble India were awarded the 10th Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award, 2019 alongside the 33rd India Economic Summit for 2019 in New Delhi for building an ecosystem of skilling, employment and entrepreneurship for persons with disabilities (PwDs). The award, jointly established by Jubilant Bhartia Foundation and Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship in 2010, recognizes promising social entrepreneurs who implement sustainable solutions.

Indo-Mongolian Joint Exercise Nomadic Elephant 2019 to be held at Bakloh

The 14th edition of Indo – Mongolian joint military training, Exercise Nomadic Elephant-XIV, being conducted over a period of 14 days, will commence from 05 Oct 2019. The exercise will be conducted from 05 Oct 19 to 18 Oct 19 at Bakloh.
Nomadic Elephant-XIV is aimed at training troops in counter-insurgency &counter terrorism operations under the United Nations mandate. The Joint Exercise will enhance defence co-operation and military relations between the two nations.


PM Modi Inaugurates Metro Service, ENT Hospital in Mauritius Via Video Conference

Prime Minister Narendra Modi jointly inaugurated a metro express service and a hospital in Mauritius with Mauritian premier Pravind Jugnauth via video conference and described the projects as a symbol of New Delhi’s strong commitment towards the development of the island nation. Both the projects will serve the people of Mauritius.
The Government of India has granted $275 million for the Metro Express project and $14 million for the new Hospital Project. The state-of-the-art energy efficient ENT Hospital is first paperless E-Hospital in Mauritius.
